WELCOME TO 

HERITAGE DAY!

Enjoy the biggest day of Gloucester Schooner Festival with a day of heritage, community, and breathtaking schooner sails on Gloucester Harbor.  America's oldest seaport and Gloucester's iconic working waterfront come alive for a day like no other...Maritime Heritage Day!

HERITAGE DAY SCHEDULE

10:00AM

 Opening Ceremony 

Join Maritime Gloucester and the USS Constitution 1812 Marines as we open up the day with musket salutes and a parade of kids in formation down the pier. Your child (or inner child) can march alongside the USS Constitution 1812 Marines, holding toy muskets and announcing the start of the day. One child (or child at heart) will be selected to ring the Bell for the starting ceremony.

Arrive early at 23 Harbor Loop, the entry way to Maritime Gloucester's pier to participate or witness the fun. 

 1-Hour Water Tour of the Schooners 

Take a ticketed tour of the schooners by water aboard the Cape Ann Harbor Tours water shuttle, the Jillian.  Guided by Michael O'Leary.  TICKETS HERE

 One-Hour Harbor Tour on the Schooner Ardelle 

Take a $25 ticketed sail aboard Maritime Gloucester's Flagship the Schooner Ardelle.  TICKETS HERE 

10:00AM - 4:00PM

 Maritime Heritage Day @ Maritime Gloucester 

23 Harbor Loop is the hub of activity for your day, with a sea pocket aquarium and touchtanks await. Food trucks, demonstrations, vendors and community resources are all here to help you celebrate the day.

 Maritime Heritage Day @ THE I4C2 SCHOONER FLOATS 
At 65 Rogers Street, local vendors and schooner organizations open their booths for public info and sales. A great place to get your GSF official merch and watch the schooners come in and out of the harbor.

At 32 Horton Street, our friends at Ocean Alliance lead the way with a celebration of Cape Ann's iconic Culture and Science Communities! Take the harbor shuttle across to continue your day of fun and engagement at this new location for 2025.

 USS Constitution 1812 Marines Demo 

Next to Maritime Gloucester at Solomon Jacobs Park, the USS Constitution 1812 Marines engage kids of all ages with interactive historic drills, marching, & musket fire.

 One-Hour Harbor Tour on the Schooner Ardelle 

Take a $25 ticketed sail aboard Maritime Gloucester's Flagship the Schooner Ardelle.  TICKETS HERE 

 SCHOONER DECK TOURS BEGIN - I4C2 
At 65 Rogers Street the docks open up for FREE deck tours. Your chance to get aboard, talk with crew, and experience multiple vessels at once.

 Harbor Shuttle 

To visit all three Maritime Heritage Day locations conveniently, visitors are welcome to take the Cape Ann Harbor Tours shuttle. Stops available at all three locations. Tickets can be purchased, first come, first served on board.​
