2017 Summer Drop In Programs (10 programs/week)

Typically, summer programs are FREE with admission or Maritime Gloucester membership. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Most activities are suitable for general audience unless specified. Schedule is subject to change, as some of the activities are weather-dependent. Call ahead, check online or ask at our Admission Desk to confirm the daily schedule. Activities and demonstrations take place at locations throughout Maritime Gloucester. Refer to the map on our Visitor’s Guide for more information.

 

Creature of the Week

Each week we will highlight one of the fascinating creatures living in our Sea Pocket Aquarium. Program includes an exploration in the Aquarium, a story and a creature craft.

Plankton Safari

Saturdays
Sundays

Prepare slides and view microscopic marine life with Maritime Gloucester’s video microscopes. No scientific experience is necessary to enjoy this one of a kind opportunity to learn along with your children! Meet in the microscope lab.

Maritime Pop-up Games

Join us for pop-up games that explore local habitats and ecosystems. Meet in our Sea Pocket Aquarium. Tuesday and Thursday from 11am-Noon.

Fish-Printing

Wednesdays

Come pick your favorite fish and leave with new art for the fridge at home. Meet in the classroom or under the tent Wednesday from 3pm-4pm.

Oysters on the Pier

Visit the Oyster Upweller on our pier and learn all about these incredible mollusks. Meet on the pier Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11am-noon.
